Privacy Policy

BlackBird ("we", "our", "the app") is a multi-profile privacy browser for iOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Introduction

  • BlackBird is built on WKWebView (Safari engine) and designed to minimize data collection. Our primary goal is to provide you with a tool for secure multi-session browsing without collecting unnecessary information about you.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information — email address when you create an account for cloud sync or team collaboration.
  • Browser profiles — profile configurations (user agent, screen resolution, timezone, language, proxy settings) that you create within the app. Stored locally on your device by default, or synced to our servers only with your explicit consent.
  • Session cookies — if you enable Cookie Sync, cookie data is encrypted client-side with AES-GCM before upload. We cannot decrypt or access your cookies.
  • Usage metadata — anonymous, aggregated data about how you use the app (e.g., number of profiles created, sync usage) to improve stability and performance. We do not track your browsing history or visited URLs.
  • Technical data — iOS version, device model, and crash logs for compatibility and debugging purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide core app functionality — creating isolated sessions, syncing profiles across your devices.
  • To process your subscription and manage billing through our payment provider.
  • To enable team collaboration features when you create or join a team.
  • To provide technical support and respond to your inquiries.
  • To improve performance, stability, and security of BlackBird.
  • To prevent abuse and ensure the security of our service.

4. Data Storage & Security

  • Local storage — by default, all profile data (cache, cookies, session history) is stored exclusively on your device and isolated between profiles using WKWebsiteDataStore.
  • Cloud Sync — if enabled, your profile configurations (not browsing history) are transmitted to our servers for cross-device access. Cookie data is encrypted client-side with AES-GCM before upload.
  • Infrastructure — cloud data is stored on Supabase infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit.
  • We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
  • All network communication uses TLS/HTTPS encryption.

5. Data Sharing

  • We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
  • We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
  • Team profiles are shared only with members of your team that you explicitly invite.
  • We may disclose information only if required by law or to protect our legal rights (e.g., in response to a court order).

6. Proxy Servers

  • The app supports connection through HTTP/SOCKS5 proxy servers. We do not provide proxy servers.
  • You use third-party proxies at your own risk. We are not responsible for the speed, security, or legality of proxy servers you choose to use.
  • Proxy configuration data (host, port) is stored locally as part of your browser profile settings.

7. Your Rights & Choices

  • Access — you can view all your data within the app and web dashboard at any time.
  • Export — you can export all your profiles and cookies from the app.
  • Deletion — you can delete individual profiles, all app data via iOS settings, or your entire account from the Account page. Account deletion is irreversible.
  • Opt-out — you can disable Cloud Sync at any time to remain in local-only mode.
  • Portability — your profile data is stored in standard formats and can be exported at any time.

8. Third-Party Services

  • Supabase — authentication and cloud data storage.
  • No third-party analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, or tracking pixels are included in the app.

9. Children's Privacy

  • BlackBird is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

  • We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
  • Continued use of BlackBird after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
